Let me first report that yesterday I learned that I did not make the cut to participate in the REPEAT(ed) competition. I'm telling myself it's because I don't have enough work out there yet. I'm still going to follow the competition, and may even challenge myself to design along with them.
Besides that, I have been so frustrated with how little time I manage to scrape up to work on this stuff. Soon I will have no friends left because I'm neglecting them all! I try to keep it in perspective because, ultimately, I am so thankful to have time to be with my kids and be involved at their school. There are just so many other things (for Pete's sake, the washing machine has to work, and the dog has to go to the vet, etc.). Just Life things. What I'm trying to say is, it's just so easy to get beat down. Probably anyone knows this.
And THEN ...
Today goes down in history as the day I MADE MY FIRST SALE ON ETSY!!! I was so excited, I could barely sit down and figure out what to do next! Soon (this being early-release day) it was time to go get the kids. While we (now back at home) waited for the appliance repair man, I decided some sort of calling card was needed for including in the box, so I whipped some up and printed them on my little laser printer. I even did a little repeat design on the back -- see that (below)? I got the package all ready to go, but the repair man wasn't done until it was too late to get to the post office. Once I find out this package has happily arrived and the recipients are pleased, I will feel officially initiated!
Still, the best part of my day may be a special comment left by Anonymous on this very blog. All I can say is, never underestimate the power of kindness.

Congrats on your first sale Darci!
